How to Pay Vendors

Edited

Lumanu provides two flexible ways to identify and pay your vendors: using their Lumanu ID or their Email Alias. This gives you more control and confidence when sending payments, ensuring that the funds reach the correct recipient.

What is a Lumanu ID?

A Lumanu ID is a unique identifier assigned to each vendor after they complete the tax verification process. It ensures that payments are made to the correct account, especially in cases where vendors may have multiple email addresses or vendor accounts.

While Email Aliases remain a valid way to identify vendors, using a Lumanu ID adds an extra layer of accuracy and eliminates potential confusion.

Steps to Pay Vendors Using Lumanu ID or Email Alias

1. When creating a new payment, you’ll have the option to identify the vendor using either:

  1. Lumanu ID: Simply enter the vendor’s Lumanu ID, which is a unique identifier that ensures the payment goes to the correct account.

    1. Email Alias: You can also enter the vendor’s Email Alias, which is the email address associated with their Lumanu account. If the vendor has multiple email addresses they will receive an email and be able to match the payment to their desired Lumanu vendor account.

  2. Complete the Payment Details
After selecting the vendor via Lumanu ID or Email Alias, fill out the payment details, including the amount and any relevant project or campaign information.

  3. Review and Confirm
Double-check all information, ensuring the correct vendor is selected, and confirm the payment.

  4. Submit the Payment
Once all details are confirmed, submit the payment. Whether you used the Lumanu ID or Email Alias, the funds will be sent to the vendor’s account in Lumanu.

Why Use Lumanu ID Over Email Alias?

  • Accuracy: Lumanu IDs ensure payments are sent to the correct vendor, even if they have multiple accounts or email addresses.

  • Simplicity: If your vendor provides a Lumanu ID, there’s no need to cross-check email aliases or worry about incorrect accounts.

  • Competed account setup: When a vendor provides you with their Lumanu ID you can be sure that they have fully set up their Lumanu account and completed their tax verifications.

However, if a vendor hasn’t provided their Lumanu ID yet, you can still use their Email Alias for payments.
